Reed Tech Takeaways from RAPS Euro Convergence

May 24, 2023 | Drug & Biologic Product Submissions, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, Unique Device Identification

Greetings from Amsterdam!

Earlier this month, Sales Development Representative Miriam Kniering represented Reed Tech Life Sciences at the RAPS Euro Convergence conference in Amsterdam. Upon Miriam’s return, we took some time to sit down and ask her a few questions about her experience. See below for Miriam’s takeaways and photos from the conference.

About Miriam:

Born in Germany, Miriam is now a resident of Spain. After starting out in the legal realm, Miriam managed her own law practice for over a decade. Next, she pivoted her professional interests to real estate. She moved to Spain to open her own business, Alpha Real Estate, where she spent her time helping clients with needs assessments in finding their ideal real estate scenario. She brings this background of customer focus to her work as a Sales Development Representative for Reed Tech Life Sciences, where she excels in discovering customer needs and providing expert advice to her clients.

 Three Questions with Miriam:

Sam: What is one major takeaway you gleaned from your participation in the RAPS conference?

Miriam: There was so much to see and learn, but one thing that I heard repeatedly was the importance of staying ahead of EUDAMED regulatory timelines. Specifically, those upcoming benchmarks in May and September of next year for EU Legacy Medical Devices. Did you know? By May 26, 2024, you have to put in place an MDR compliant QMS and lodge a formal application with a Notified Body for MDR Conformity Assessment. In addition, no later than September 26, 2024, a formal agreement with the Notified Body must be signed.

Sam: What presentations did you find the most educational?

Miriam: I participated in several presentations, but I think my favorites were the “Expert Advisory Panel: What We Have Learned” on Thursday, and “Device Lifetime and Lifecycle Management” on Friday. They were both very informative, lots of good real-world experience to learn from.

Sam: What was your favorite part of conference?

Miriam: Tough question! I think my favorite part was meeting up with members of our Reed Tech alliances, including Greenlight Guru, RegDesk, and Schlafender Hase. It was so nice to see everyone in person!

Thanks to Miriam for representing us at RAPS Euro Convergence. We are thrilled to be back with in-person conferences. Follow the link to learn more about where you can find us this year.
