Connor McNelis, Sales Development Representative, Medical Devices
Q: What is your current role at Reed Tech?
A: As a Sales Development Representative, I set appointments and connect customers and prospects with Account Executives and Managers for consultations and product demonstrations. Often, customers have specific questions about product data management, Unique Device Identification (UDI) requirements and Structured Product Labeling (SPL) best practices. Being that first point of contact and using my industry knowledge to teach them about UDI and how we can assist is a rewarding challenge. The industry is constantly in motion with new things to absorb and react to.
Q: How did you get started with a career in Life Sciences?
A: I started my college career at Temple University studying Accounting. I then transferred to Bloomsburg University where I graduated with a B.S. in Psychology. I looked for greater career growth opportunities and eventually pivoted to a sales and recruitment position in the IT industry. This is where I gained interest in the IT world. Grant Falatovich, a coworker and longtime friend, notified me of the Reed Tech Sales Development position and thought it was a great opportunity. Turns out he was right. I love this job so much more than my previous job and find the knowledge I am gaining within the regulatory industry very rewarding.
I continue to go outside my job responsibilities to develop my subject matter expertise in the specialized solutions and services offered by Reed Tech. On the side, I am a graduate student pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration at Bloomsburg University and should graduate in 2020.
Q: What is a little known fact about you?
A: One of my favorite things to do is golf. I have been playing golf since I could walk and worked on multiple golf courses throughout high school and college. Because I worked at golf courses, I had the privilege to play for free allowing me to practice for years at little to no cost. I have become pretty decent at golf over the years and have friends and family ask me for advice consistently. This is a hobby that I can only improve on and a sport I can continue into the later years of my life.

Connor is currently responsible for initial outreach to prospects who want to learn more about Reed Tech solutions and services. In this role, he is continually learning about real-life scenarios and data management concerns for regulatory affairs, IT and supply chain professionals. He connects information seekers with subject matter expertise.
